Exhaustion that sleep did not fix
Bloods normal, sleep eight hours, still broken. The chart pointed at Water and at the winter.
She had been to four doctors. Every panel came back normal. She slept eight hours a night and woke unrefreshed. The phrase she used was that she felt like she was running on a battery that would not charge.
What the chart showed
A Fire Day Master — bright, expressive, generous with energy — and almost no Water. Water in the classical system governs the kidneys, the bones and the marrow, and also willpower: the reserve beneath the reserve.
It also governs winter. Her chart was weakest in the season she was working hardest, and she had spent four consecutive Decembers in a heavy travel cycle.
What we told her
This is not medicine, and we said so. What the chart offered was a map of where the load was landing. In her case: the year had been structured with no regard for the two months her constitution is least able to carry weight.
What changed
She moved her two heaviest professional commitments out of December, added deliberate rest in the Water months, and cut one long-haul trip a year. It took about five months. She reports the change as gradual and unglamorous, which is how recovery usually works.
