What BaZi says about health

Traditional Chinese medicine and BaZi share a single assumption: the body is an expression of the same five phases that govern everything else. When an element is weak in the chart, the organ system paired with it tends to be the one that struggles first — often years before anything shows on a blood test.

The five pairings

• Wood — Liver & Gallbladder. Tendons, eyes, the capacity to plan. Weak Wood shows as tension, poor sleep before decisions, and frustration that sits in the shoulders.
• Fire — Heart & Small Intestine. Blood vessels, speech, joy. Weak Fire shows as low brightness, cold hands, and difficulty being seen.
• Earth — Spleen & Stomach. Digestion, muscle, worry. Weak Earth shows as irregular appetite, rumination, and a body that cannot hold weight or rest.
• Metal — Lungs & Large Intestine. Skin, breath, boundaries, grief. Weak Metal shows as allergies, dry skin, and an inability to let go of what is finished.
• Water — Kidneys & Bladder. Bones, marrow, willpower, fear. Weak Water shows as exhaustion that sleep does not fix, and cold in the lower body.

Why the season matters

Elements rise and fall with the calendar. A Wood-weak chart is most exposed in spring, when Wood is demanded and cannot be supplied. A Water-weak chart struggles in deep winter. The classical reading therefore gives you not a diagnosis but a timetable — the months to push, and the months to rest deliberately.
