What BaZi says about marriage

The marriage reading in classical BaZi does not ask whether you will marry. It asks a more interesting set of questions: what kind of partner your chart draws, when union is favoured, and which pattern you keep repeating when it fails.

The Spouse Palace

The branch of your Day Pillar is the Spouse Palace — the seat of the marriage in the chart. Its element, its relationship to your Day Master, and whether it is clashed or combined by the surrounding pillars give a remarkably specific picture of married life: who holds the power, where the friction sits, and whether the relationship tends to stabilise or drift.

The Peach Blossom star

Tao Hua, the Peach Blossom, marks attraction and romantic energy. Some charts carry it strongly and are never short of options; others carry it weakly and need deliberate effort to be seen. Neither is better. Both are manageable once named.

Compatibility — read properly

Popular Chinese astrology reduces compatibility to the twelve animals. That is the newspaper version. In a real reading we compare both charts across four dimensions: element support, Day Master interaction, Spouse Palace contact, and the timing of each personu2019s luck pillars. Two charts can look terrible in the animal system and be genuinely steady in practice — and the reverse.

The timing of union

Marriage windows are visible. Years in which the Spouse Palace is activated, or in which a combination forms between the two charts, are the years a relationship tends to formalise. Knowing the window is useful whether you are planning a wedding or deciding whether to wait.
