The corridor that ended at the desk

A home office producing relentless low-level stress. The Qi map showed why.

The fault

His desk sat at the end of a long, straight corridor, facing the wall. Every approach to the room arrived as a direct line of moving Qi. Compounding it, the seat had its back to the door and the monitor faced the corridor — the worst possible combination for concentration.

What we recommended

Four changes, in order of impact: rotate the desk so his back was to the solid wall and his sight line covered the doorway; place a tall plant at the corridor mouth to slow the Qi before it entered; add a low bookcase to break the straight sight line from the hall; and remove the mirror that faced the office door.

Result

He reported the change as “quieter” rather than dramatic — the correct outcome for a sha qi correction. Feng Shui of this kind does not add good luck. It removes a constant, unnameable friction, and leaves you with your own baseline.
